Autumn !

While much of Europe and North America shivers in winter, Italy has been delightfully springy.  Coats are cast off, restaurant tables set up outside, and my friends who normally never take chances just enjoyed their first swim of the year at Palermo’s beach in Mondello.

For many of you, vaccination campaigns are seriously underway.  There are so many reasons to celebrate this !

One is that travel in Italy is that much closer.

In September or October and often into November, weather is usually also sweet and welcoming.  Summer will hold autumn in her arms, and keep winter at bay.

The light will be remarkable. The days will still be long.

Isn’t it time to plan for September or October or November ?

In many parts of southern Italy, the swimming season goes on through nearly the end of the year.

Culinary celebrations — olive oil, mushrooms, truffles, wine, mushrooms, chestnuts, the list goes on and on — are unsurpassed in the autumn.  May we plan an individualized program for you in which you harvest and partake ?

May we share our autumnal seasonal calendar of events so you can begin your own planning ?

Finally, Valentine’s Day is in less than a week.  Treat your Valentine to Italy with an Insider’s Italy Gift Certificate, just a click away.
