Insider’s Italy Themed Trips

Walking

Absorbed into landscape

There is simply no finer way to become absorbed into landscape than to walk a mountain path, mule track, cypress-lined dirt trail, cobblestoned Roman road or coastal route shaded by majestic umbrella pines.

We’ve walked the Appian Way, Via Francigena, Dolomite paths, the ancient Abruzzo tratturo, Cinque Terre, the Sentiero degli Dei and thousands of paths up and down Italy.

An additional level of pleasure

We’ve heard no sound but the cricket, trilling its trill, on walks in the Valle d’Orcia, and the none but the haunting cry of the swifts as we’ve walked the Piani di Castelluccio.

If walking – for an hour, a morning, a full day, several days, a week – is a joy for you, please let us know.  Walks can be gentle or challenging, as you wish.  We have walking guides for you in a number of our favorite places. Their local knowledge, experience and enthusiasm will add an additional level of pleasure to your walking.

"You gave freedom to experiment, yet ensured that we would not miss anything essential to life, like good food, good walks, excellent people and beautiful places. I can’t overstate how much we loved planning with you. ”
