Bringing Italy Closer

I can hardly wait — as hardly can you, I know — till you move from dreaming of Italy to planning for Italy and then, best of all, to being in Italy.

Italy of course is entirely ready for you.

The nation’s coronavirus intensive care wards are virtually empty (72 patients in total). There were 208 new COVID-19 cases today, this in a population of over 60 million.

Nearly every museum is open nationwide and hotels are all open or just opening, all with discounted rates. Restaurants with their enticing summer menus have put out their outdoor tables… and everything looks especially wonderful.

Italy has returned with cohesive spirit and renewed energy !

But of course you are not there.  I would like to bring you back, back to my Italy, Insider’s Italy.

During these months we’ve redesigned our website, and encourage you please to visit.  www.insidersitaly.com  There you will find photos to inspire you and a new page devoted to my family history (stop by to see my grandmother in elbow length gloves and feathered hat while sightseeing in the Forum !)

You will also find ideas for ten kinds of independent themed trips, from honeymoons to anniversaries, to intergenerational to family to gardens… and five more.  Is there any time when Italy is not a good idea ?

You will find a clear review of what we do, how we do it, and what we charge.

Now as for the past thirty years, we are a family business that never advertises.

You are our business card, and we are so grateful for your support. Please share our site with friends, with family, with neighbors, with colleagues !

And while you are on our site, please sign up for our Blog.  We’ve been busy, with a collection of close to sixty new blogs written in these COVID months, with stories from all over the country.

Most of all, please spend the time between now and your next trip to consider how Italy can make you most happy.

For the foreseeable future, those destinations that were once overcrowded with be a particular pleasure, with comfortable space to enjoy them and Italians especially eager to make you welcome.

To travel is to live, as Hans Christian Andersen once wrote. The chance to experience and appreciate another culture like Italy, is to understand the lives of others unlike oneself.

Counting the days till I can welcome you back,

Cari saluti
