What is required for Americans to enter Italy ?

It is easy and straightforward.  With very little effort, you can be swimming here, like our happy clients, near Positano.

Travelers from the US entering Italy must at the time of departure present either :

1) Proof of Covid vaccination, certifying completion (at least 14 days) of one of the three vaccination cycles now used in the US.  Proof is your “white card” bearing the CDC logo OR

2) Recovery from COVID-19 with a medical certificate OR

3) Negative rapid antigenic or molecular PCR test carried out in the 48 hours prior to entering Italy.

Children accompanying adults must take a pre-departure Covid test if they are 6 or over and are not vaccinated. Children under 6 years old required no testing.

Additionally, before departure passengers are required to complete a specific location form in digital format (https://app.euplf.eu/).

This form takes about five minutes to fill out.

That’s it.

Providing enormous peace of mind, Italy will, starting August 6, require proof of one of the three criteria above if you want to occupy an indoor table in a bar or restaurant or enter museums. “Without vaccinations, we must close everything again,” said Italy’s Prime Minister Draghi this week.

Insider’s Italy travelers are here now, and no one has found it complicated to obtain or present their documentation. Efficiency, kindness, and short lines are standard as you arrive by air into Italy.

And there is much to be said for a national policy that requires that masks be worn everywhere indoors.

All to say : what are you waiting for ?
